Conservative Worldview may be undermined by Health Care agenda
A number of people, liberal in political stance were questioned about what was the single most important thing that could give them an iron grip over government like the one they had from 1932 to Reagan. This was answered by Sara Robinson, Campaign for America’s Future.
According to her universal health care that relied on a single payer system was the answer. The reason for this is not only that health care is important for the well being of people. The reason was also political and psychological. The conservative worldview would be rapidly and permanently undermined by this step more than anything else.
Both the media and the blogosphere are rife with speculation about what president elect Barack Obama will do on health care. According to the observations of Paul Krugman, NYT columnist, legislation could be drafted within weeks, coming into force only in 2010 or 2011 though.
The plan has four elements. These are – a community rating, subsidies, mandatory child insurance and government run plans. As a result of these policies taxpayers and consumers may have to pay more for health care.
