Obama’s Big Plan Draws Flak
In his effort to reform all the American systems, President Obama has created a number of different routes to solution. Whether the plans will yield fruit is debatable, but for now many of them are drawing flak. The latest among such plans is a big new public health insurance program that has been envisioned by Obama. This plan is a bone of contention.
Details of the proposal have not been released by the White House or the Congressional Democrats. There is dissaproval among some Republicans as well as people in the insurance industry about whether the plan would be good for the system even before the details of the plan have been released. Socialized medicine is the term that is being given to these moves by President Barack Obama.
What Obama wants is to sign a bill into law that changes the face of the health insurance industry as we know it. This comes in the background of 46 million Americans lacking health insurance and the nation lagging behind on important indicators of health.
Private coverage is the most common among Americans with many Americans being insured by an employer. Public programs cover the elderly, disabled, poor and low income children. However due to the high cost of insurance many people still go without insurance. It is these people who the new plans by President Barack Obama seeks to benefit.
