Health care which is a hot topic in presidential poll discussions recieved some expert recommendations. The experts have recommended more organization in the health care system. They recommend a focus on overall health care rather than expensive operations. Basically what they are saying is – Prevention is better than cure.

According to these experts, the ideal health care system would combine federal, state, employer and private efforts towards health care. Everyone in the US must have health insurance.

The expert panel was appointed by the Commonwealth fund – a not for profit fund. Naturally their views are worth paying attention to. They are for an increase in primary care medical specialists rather than specialized medicing.

These experts say that the money spent in health care in the United States is not being put to good use as compared to other countries. The United States was rated 67/100 on 37 health care indicators by the fund. This, in spite of the fact that the US spends far more on Health care as compared to other countries.

One suggestion is rewards to the doctors for keeping patients healthy. Affordable health coverage for all Americans is the opinion of the fund. Another suggestion is – electronic health records.

Health care is the number one issue in the 2008 presidential polls.
