Insurance Overhaul May Be On The Way
November 22, 2008
According to representatives of the healthcare system, an overhaul of the system is welcome as they have conveyed to Congress. Based on their statement, all citizens would be eligible for healthcare irrespective of health status. However all Americans must take health insurance as per the view of these health care reps.
This second requirement has been put forward by health care reps because only if health insurance is provided to all can the risk be divided among healthy and sick people. Two trade organizations the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and America’s Health Insurance Plans have called for coverage of those who already have health problems along with mandatory coverage for all Americans.

Insurance and Genders
November 15, 2008
Women are charged more for insurance than men. About 40 percent more according to The Today Show. The show touted the idea of equal rates for men and women. The issue is this, women have higher medical bills. As a result women are required to pay more for insurance. If the question of insurance were not based on the likely average cost of payout to the consumer group then insurance could be uniform among all groups of people. So you would have diabetics, heart patients and cancer patients all being charged a flat rate, the same as otherwise healthy people.
What would this result in? Higher rates for the people with low medical bills. As a result it becomes no longer viable for them to purchase insurance. As a result they forego insurance. As a result the cost gets passed on to those who are more likely to have higher medical bills. Viola it is back to square one. They pay higher rates once again and healthy people are forced to go without insurance.

A number of people, liberal in political stance were questioned about what was the single most important thing that could give them an iron grip over government like the one they had from 1932 to Reagan. This was answered by Sara Robinson, Campaign for America’s Future.
According to her universal health care that relied on a single payer system was the answer. The reason for this is not only that health care is important for the well being of people. The reason was also political and psychological. The conservative worldview would be rapidly and permanently undermined by this step more than anything else.

Health Care Myths
November 1, 2008
A Single Payer System is best. This is a big health care myth. Socialized medicine is perhaps not the best system to have. In Canada, there is a huge number of citizens languishing on waiting lists for surgeries as well a other necessary treatments. There is a shortage of doctors and this is really terrible. In America, women with breast cancer have a survival rate of 83.9 percent and the survival rate for British women is 69.7 percent
The whole world falls back from the US on cancer treatment. Another myth is that the exploding cost of American health care is harming businesses and families. Although a lot is spent by Americans on health care, there is a lot of value in that money.
